A native of Lafayette, Dr. Ryan Chastant returns home after extensive medical training in New York City. A graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Dr. Chastant worked for six years as a surgical technologist at Lafayette General Medical Center before attending Louisiana State University School of Medicine in 2005. During this period, he volunteered at Faith House for Battered and Abused Women. He completed his residency at Tulane University School of Medicine and, most recently, completed fellowship training under Andrew Jacono, MD, FACS, a renowned facial plastic and reconstructive specialist at the prestigious Albert Einstein School of Medicine in New York.

Dr. Chastant has long been an active supporter of community outreach organizations such as Miles for Miles supporting Miles Perret Cancer Services. He recently applied his training and passion for reconstructive surgery as part of a medial mission trip to Santa Marta, Columbia where he worked on patients with cleft lip/palate issues and to Ecuador where he helped children born with malformed ears and a disease called microtia. Dr. Chastant is the son of Dr. Bradley Chastant, a board certified facial plastic surgeon, and extends a long and distinguished line of doctors serving Acadiana, which began with his paternal grandfather. He is delighted to be able to work side by side with his father and to return home to the people and culture that he loves so dearly.
