Richard Belle Isle, MD, is a double-board certified Pain Management Specialist and Anesthesiologist through the American Board of Anesthesiology. He is specialty trained in interventional pain procedures such as image guided nerve blocks, epidural steroid injections, joint and bursa injections, and radiofrequency ablation treatments for chronic pain. Dr. Belle Isle is originally from Somerset, WI and completed a BS in Kinesiology at the University of Minnesota. He then went on to complete a BS in the Physician Assistant (PA) program at Touro College, School of Health Sciences in Bay Shore, New York. After completing this training, he was the PA to two prominent Lafayette physicians, Dr. Stephen Goldware, Neurosurgeon and Dr. Louis Blanda, Orthopedic Surgeon. Dr. Belle Isle continued his training and attended medical school at the Saba University School of Medicine, Saba, Netherlands-Antilles, where he earned his MD degree. He then completed an Anesthesiology Residency at the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta, Georgia followed by specialty training in the Pain Management Fellowship at the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta, Georgia. He is currently a member of the American Society of Anesthesiology, the American Academy of Pain Medicine, and the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, and the Southern Pain Society.
