Welcome to Lafayette Surgical Specialty Hospital
LSSH is a 20-bed physician-owned hospital built in 2004. We have eight operating rooms and three procedure rooms that accommodate 8,000 total cases annually. Since opening our doors, we have established a strong reputation and presence in the Acadiana community by exceeding patients’ expectations for treatment, comfort, safety, and cost. Our patient satisfaction rates are outstanding, consistently reaching 98% and higher. Because we are a physician-owned hospital, our doctors have much more direct involvement with every aspect of care that is provided. By closely coordinating care with our nurses and support staff, our physician partners help to ensure the highest standards of care, optimal outcomes for patient safety, convenience, and satisfaction.Joint
Commission
Accreditation
We are proud to maintain our Joint Commission Accreditation year after year.
This means that we continuously demonstrate that we provide safe, high-quality care, as determined by compliance with Joint Commission standards, National Patient Safety Goals and performance measurement requirements (as applicable). The Joint Commission grants accreditation to approximately 88% of the nation’s hospitals on an annual basis. As an accredited organization, we are subject to unannounced surveys by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospital Organizations every 18 months.

History Built on Success
We received the 2011 Louisiana Hospital Capstone Quality Award,
presented by eQHealth Solutions, the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization for Louisiana. Lafayette Surgical Specialty Hospital was presented the award for improving the quality of health care for our patients in the clinical area of surgical care.
LSSH was most recently honored by the Louisiana Nurses Foundation as “Specialty Hospital of the Year” for 2014 and previously named “Hospital of the Year” for Louisiana hospitals with twenty beds or less for four consecutive years (2007-2010). To us, this award is about recognizing the hard work, dedication, heart and soul that our nurses, physicians and support staff put into caring for our patients. It’s about striving to achieve excellence every day. But most of all, awards such as this simply mean that we are providing patients with outstanding care – and nothing is more rewarding or important than that.
In 2011, 2012, 2014, and 2015 LSSH appeared in USA Today as one of the Top 100 Hospitals for Patient Experience by WomenCertified. Winners were chosen for demonstrating extraordinary service in meeting the needs of women and their families.

My husband and I both have chronic illnesses so we have been in numerous hospitals. This was the most pleasant experience we have ever had. The staff was very accommodating and when you called the nurses station someone came to the room immediately. The food was even the best hospital food. Recommend to anyone.

My son had his adenoids taken out and tubes put in. Everybody from the front desk to recovery was awesome! My toddler was a handful but they did everything they could to make all of us comfortable.

I rate this hospital and my experience a 5 out of 5 stars. I have to say that the facility is very clean. Precautions are taken to protect the hospital, staff, and patients against Covid. I would not hesitate to recommend Lafayette Surgical Specialty Hospital to anyone. Just can’t say enough positive things about the hospital and all the staff.
Thank you!

My stay at Lafayette Surgical Specialty Hospital was the best. Everyone was compassionate and professional. I only suffered minimal pain. The food was excellent; the hospital was very clean and orderly. I’m very particular about cleanliness and the hospital met even my tough standards. Everyone was so kind. God Bless.
